The Job

Do you want to bring game-changing Monitoring and Instrumentation practices to a dynamic and globally distributed engineering organization? The Technology Delivery Platform team builds the systems and processes that enable Xandr engineers to do their best work every day. We own the build, deployment & test systems that power our next-generation technology platform. The Technology Delivery Platform team is at the forefront of adopting new tools & techniques for the entire Xandr engineering community. We're hands-on agents of change who exemplify and create the next wave of best practices. We're highly collaborative and our highest values include quality, scalability, automation, and team work.

We’re on the lookout for someone to build and implement scalable, high-performance monitoring and instrumentation solutions, enabling intelligent operations through continuous observation. This highly-visible role will require to work closely with engineering, ops, and product teams to maximize observability and proactively minimize the impact of application performance issues.

You Will

  • Participate in technical analysis, design, implementation, testing, releases, documentation and support of our monitoring suite and infrastructure
  • Develop a monitoring strategy to support real time monitoring and observability use cases
  • Enable technology teams to adopt monitoring tools quickly by providng interfaces and automating monitoring observability where possible
  • Engineer and implement monitoring and instrumentation APIs using REST web services
  • Assist engineering teams in creating operational dashboards to track performance of their key metrics and KPIs
  • Provide support, maintenance and troubleshooting of our portfolio of M&I tools, ensuring the availability and performance of the overall system
  • Maintain and improve Monitoring and Instrumentation standards, documentation and best practices
  • You will be involved in decision making regarding team’s overall architecture and strategic direction
  • Conduct presentations and provide training on monitoring tool usage
  • Research, evaluate and perform POCs of monitoring tools and solutions

You Have

Mandatory skills:

  • 3+ years’ experience engineering in a distributed, high-availability environment
  • Strong working knowledge of Python/PHP/Pearl (object oriented programming is a plus)
  • Solid computer science fundamentals
  • Exposure to Kubernetes
  • Working knowledge of system and application metric monitoring tools such as Prometheus, graphite etc.
  • Experience with ELK stack or similar log management tool
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the insight to translate business goals into tech requirements
  • Creative probel solving ability
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical field, or tenured related experience
  • A collaborative and customer-centric mindset with excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Flexibility to fix production monitoring issues, and work in real time with team members around the globe

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience designing and developing customized tools, scripts and dashboards
    Experience building robust SaaS monitoring and instrumentation frameworks
  • Experience working with CI (Continuous Integration)/ /CD (Continuous delivery)
  • Exposure to Cloud
